Edvard Gran works foremost with photography and video. Gran's work has an unobtrusive imagery in which existential melancholy and/or the absence of meaning is a recurring theme. At CirkulationsCentralen Edvard Gran presents a new video piece, entitled "Monolog #1" (HD, ca 34 min, loop) in which an actor tries sincerely and relatively systematically to develop a reasoning. The text constantly analyses and questions its own content and ends at its own point of departure in a sort of self-phasing out. It is presented in several sets connected by increasing degrees of self-criticism, frustration and hopelessness.
