Captivating Horizons

Since the Copernican turn in the renaissance and in the light of the expeditions of e.g. Columbus western imagination has captured the horizon as a symbol of man's endeavour - and detained it as focal point and signifying factor: as an ideal vision in our fantasies  where life being lived at the inclination of Earth is a distinctive strive. But the dream about the world at the core of our vision is impossible; one can never conquer the realm of the glance since the horizon per se relentlessly corresponds to the progress of our movement with similar velocity and constancy.

.

There where sky separates from ocean.
When being defined in terms of basic science 'True Horizon'  is equivalent of the visualization of Earth's inclination. The idea of the exhibition begins when the scientific definition of 'True Horizon' gets into the wrong hands: hence the exhibiting artists:

Tobias Toyberg works with a distinctive space where the horizon evidently exists. It is in this concept that forms are being shaped, the creation of emotions linked to the   present time and space, and photons dance in reaction to the chemistry on the film.

Through installation and photography AUTZENTHORUP attempt to comprehend reality. The aim is not to find an eternal calculation but in loops and montages to present new, visual paths to the semantic stream of consciousness.

Lotte Fløe Christensen makes a humoristic and elegant impact on the highest peak in Denmark. As a localized 'true' and ultimate Danish horizon - just to reject it

To Simon Bue Schrøder the horizon is unregistered, unveiled, and undetermined sensibility: As in mountain crevices, in thickets, behind doors, and in petite spaces where light never appears. Exactly where the eye looses focus - it is a constant presence and an impossible dependency like the myth about reaching the ocean's horizon.
